Vestibule is an event series, illustrating the model fictions art workers use to bridge gaps in available knowledge.

For the second edition, Italian curator Stella Sideli presents The Role of Unintended Consequences, a performed screening/mixtape featuring three works from Eva Fàbregas, Joey Holder, and Laure Prouvost. The films are interspersed with Sideli’s own constructed soundscape that backgrounds her ruminations on phenomenophilia: a desire for a transient, sensorial saturation that destabilizes the ability to determine what is either tangible or concrete. While this lust should hypothetically lie beyond the reach of utility, reputation, or capital, our contemporary hyper-connected condition brings the purity of the concept back into question.

Stella Sideli was born 1986 in Palermo, Italy and works in London. She completed her postgraduate studies at Goldsmiths College in Critical Theory, with prior training in communication and semiotics. Her most recent curatorial project was Feeling in the Eyes; a group exhibition with Nina Beier, David Ferrando Giraut, Will Kendrick, Seth Price, and Rustan Söderling, which took place this past February at Tenderpixel, London.
